My name is Rebecca Carroll. I have posted some of my stories–fiction and non-fiction on this site. I also have posted links to literary journals that have published my writing. You will find some of my stories written under the name Rebecca Brooks or Rebecca K. Brooks. They are all me!
I am a writer. I write for fun; I write for pay. You will find stories posted on this site and other information about my writing. I also post some random thoughts. Browse. Find something you like!
I also teach writing, mainly freshman composition. I teach at Pellissippi Community College in Knoxville and at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. I have taught at both for 5 years. I love teaching and the interaction it gives me with the younger generation. I also learn a lot from teaching and from my students.
I am married to Terry Carroll, and we have 5 grown children between us: Kelly, 28; Clark, 26; Kerry, 24; Brittney, 22; Jillian, 19. We also have 2 grandchildren: Tanner, 7; and Daisy, 4. We love getting together with all of them for a meal.
When I’m not teaching or not writing, I love working in the yard, shopping for antiques, eating chocolate, reading, traveling, or taking a nap, not necessarily in that order!

Rebecca,
My name is Sue Whittle and a member of Ossoli GFWC in Knoxville. Many of our members have had my experience of seeing what occured in Oak Ridge. My father worked at Y12, and I remember how “eery” Oak Ridge was when I visited the town. Our family were all farmers in North Knoxville. I am also pleased to see that your character’s name is Lydia. That is my first name.
But I really need to get to the point. Ossoli is a woman’s group that is dedicated to helping the communityand the world. Each Monday we have wonderful guest speakers. We would be delighted if you would be our speaker on April 25, 2011. We would also like for you to bring your books so that members will have the opportunity to purchase them. The program begins at 10:30a.m. I do hope that you will be available. I am leaving now to go to the bookstore and purchase Milk Glass Moon. Thank you for your consideration.
